Hydraulic vee packing is a type of packing that uses multiple-lip, chevron seals to prevent the leakage of fluids. It is typically used in adjustable gland applications such as telescoping truck hoists, pumps and valves.

Hytrel® vees are added to these sets to aid in low pressure sealing, and to wipe the rod completely dry. Nylon adapters are superior to fabric and rubber for extrusion resistance. Standard material: Cotton reinforced nitrile rubber is compatible with most petroleum based fluids including gasoline, and can be used in constant temperatures to +250 degrees F. Hytrel®is an engineered thermoplastic with a low friction coefficient and high abrasion resistance. It works well when alternated between fabric and rubber vees. Up to three hytrel® vees may be used in a set or by themselves. Glass filled nylon adapters are compatible with most fluids and will withstand constant temperatures up to 275 degrees F, making them suitable for use with Viton® and duck for semi-high temperature and fluid applications.Vitex® (Viton® and Nomex®, a very high temperature fabric containing Kevlar® and fiberglass) can be used at constant temperatures up to 400 degrees F.
