Standard material: Cotton reinforced nitrile rubber is compatible with most petroleum based fluids including gasoline, and can be used in constant temperatures to +250 ° F. Hytrel® is an engineered thermoplastic with a low friction coefficient and high abrasion resistance. It works well when alternated between fabric and rubber vees. Up to three Hytrel® vees may be used in a set or by themselves. Glass filled nylon adapters are compatible with most fluids and will withstand constant temperatures up to 275 ° F, making them suitable for use with Viton and duck for semi-high temperature and fluid applications. Vitex (Viton and Nomex; a very high temperature fabric containing Kevlar and fiberglass) can be used at constant temperatures up to 400 ° F.
