Wear rings are used to prevent metal to metal contact of moving parts in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. They also center the piston and rod for optimum seal life. The glass-filled nylon material offers compressive strengths similar to most metals used for this purpose and will ingest contaminants such as metal chips, thus avoiding scoring and seal damage. These seals are low pressure nitrile seals. These seals are primarily used to seal grease and lubricating oils up to 10 PSI at temperatures from -40 degrees F to +250 degrees F. Seals should be lubricated during installation for best results
