An O-ring is a mechanical gasket in the shape of a torus or donut; it is a loop of elastomer or other material with a round cross-section, designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface.

Molded from a high modulus 90 durometer nitrile material, these contoured backup rings can be easily stretched for installation. The contoured design allows the ring to mate with the O-ring. Dash sizes are equivalent to AS568A O-ring sizes. For metric sizes see MBH type backups.
